Just this evening, I was informed that the cannabis decriminalization proposal in the Missouri House of Representatives is likely to be referred to the Downsizing State Government Committee next week. This is very exciting news, as previous cannabis bills have never even gotten a committee assignment.
Now it is time for us to step up our game!
First, if you have not emailed your legislators yet, please do so now using our advocacy page. It will only take a few minutes, and this letter will still be here when you get back.
You can also help us take our message to the airwaves! A major contributor has generously offered to help finance a media campaign for Show-Me Cannabis.
This individual is offering to match $750 from Show-Me Cannabis to launch an initial five week run of radio advertisements in the Saint Louis area, Missouri’s largest media market. Those ads will ask listeners to take action by contacting their state legislators using our web tools, join our mobile campaign, and visit our website.
If successful, the campaign should attract enough contributions to sustain another round of advertisements and even expand the campaign into other parts of the state, such as Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia, Joplin, Saint Joseph, and Cape Girardeau!
That’s why we need you to contribute to our media campaign now! The sooner we can raise the matching $750, the sooner we can have our message on a radio near you.
I also have some very exciting news about hiring a lobbyist to push favorable legislation in Jefferson City. However, the deal is not final yet, so I will have to wait until next week to give you the details. Stay tuned!
As an added bonus, if you contribute $50 or more or sign up as a monthly contributor for $20 or more – regardless of whether you donate for the media campaign, to support our lobbying efforts, or any other reason – we will ship you a Show-Me Cannabis Regulation shirt! Please indicate your shirt size on the contribution form and note if your shipping address is different from your billing address.
